As International Women's Day approaches, this article serves as a humble reminder that the gender gap and the interconnected layers that frame it persist even in the countries deemed as the most progressive by popular standards. While global peace and security are of utmost importance, let us not forget that there are also women who, day after day, fight for their rights. It is the moral obligation of both governments and individuals to strive for an improved status quo, one indifferent to international expectations and based on the amelioration of societal well-being.
